Title I Educational Assistant 

Department: Juvenile Detention Center

Salary:  $12.00 / Hour 
(20 Hours/Week)

 

Job Summary: The purpose of this classification is to provide classroom related support and assistance to the Juvenile Detention Center’s Educational Staff as related to Title I Programming. Duties and responsibilities include educating/encouraging teenagers to become productive members of society, assisting teacher in developing educational materials and performing instructional tasks in small groups or individually, record keeping, preparing reports, maintaining discipline. Reports to Juvenile Detention Title I Programming Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in Education; or Associates Degree in Education with two years related experiences and/or training; or a student who is a senior in college working towards a degree in education supplemented by a reference letter from Dean of College of Education stating ability to perform along with a 3.0 minimum grade point average; or any equivalent of education and training which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position. Prior successful experience working with at-risk students in an educational environment is preferred.  Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license.

 Nursing Home Administrator

Department: Community Care

Salary: Commensurate with Experience
 Job Summary: The purpose of this classification is to direct the provisions of a skilled, intermediate and multi-service health care institution on a 24-hour basis and ensure a smooth, high quality and professionally acceptable operation. The Administrator must ensure the care and services provided meet the satisfaction of the residents, their families and physicians, thus minimizing complaints, licensure violations and lawsuit. The Administrator develops and maintains Nursing Home policies and procedures to comply with Federal, State and Local requirements. Reports to the Community Care Board of Directors. 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Administration or Business Administration. Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a long term care facility or a supervisor capacity in a hospital with focus on rehabilitation; supplemented by seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in a long term facility with skilled beds. Must possess a current State of Tennessee Nursing Home Administrator license. Knowledgeable in gerontology.

 Adoption Specialist (Temp)

Department: PAWS

Salary: $12.00 / hour Commensurate with Experience)

 

Job Summary:  The purpose of this classification is to perform general/specialized work associated with providing effective and efficient animal adoption assistance at the mobile adoption unit site. Duties and responsibilities include assisting the general public at adoption events, cleaning of kennels and cages in the adoption unit, and related spaces in the animal holding areas; feeding and watering animals; supply inventory and maintenance; and the overall care of animals. Documents and responds to all inquiries, service requests, and comments received from the public to provide pertinent information on adoptions, spay/neuter questions, and any other type of general information. Reports to Animal Control Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:  High school diploma or GED; and one (1) year of customer relations experience supplemented by two (2) months previous experience and/or training involving animal control or animal handling; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license.  Must be able to operate a motor vehicle; including the towage of a trailer.  Must possess time management skills, including the capability to work productively in fast-paced environment, keep focus on several tasks at once, and be prepared for interruptions when needed to attend to more crucial matters. Must be able to effectively communicate knowledge and information to a non-technical audience. Must possess basic computer skills, including but not limited to word processing, email and internet.

Job Summary: The purpose of this classification is to perform clinical/administrative work associated with assisting patients and medical staff within a public health clinic, or other assigned area. Duties and responsibilities include providing patient care, conducting routine physical examinations, administering medications and immunizations, administering therapeutic treatments, assisting physicians during patient examinations and procedures, reacting to crisis situations, obtaining and preparing laboratory specimens, providing counseling and education to patients, intervening appropriately in crisis situations, maintaining medical supplies, preparing medication carts, preparing patient charts, maintaining records, and performing other duties as assigned. Reports to Nursing Director.

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; supplemented by one (1) year previous experience and/or training involving nursing; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain valid Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license. Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license.

Custodian

Part-Time 

Department: Maintenance

Salary:  $8.42 / hour

 

Job Summary:  The purpose of this classification is to perform manual work associated with cleaning and maintaining county buildings and conducting various errands. Duties and responsibilities include vacuuming and shampooing carpets, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting furniture, washing windows, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash containers, ordering and maintaining supplies, running errands, performing general repairs, or performing other tasks as assigned.  Assignment to Ambulance Services reports to Paramedic. Assignment to Health Department reports to Health Department Director.  Assignment to Maintenance Department reports to Custodian Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications: Junior high school education (or equivalent) required; supplemented by 4 months previous experience and/or training involving custodial work and general maintenance work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license.

Job Summary: The purpose of this classification is to perform security work associated with maintaining the safety, security and welfare of inmates at the Correctional Work Center or Juvenile Detention Center. Duties and responsibilities include enforcing facility rules and regulations, maintaining discipline, processing incoming inmates, monitoring activities and behavior of inmates, coordinating provision of food, medical care and supplies for inmates, providing courtroom and courthouse security, transporting inmates, preparing documentation, maintaining records, and performing other tasks as assigned. Assignment to Correctional Work Center reports to Corporal, Detention. Assignment to Juvenile Detention Center reports to Corporal, Detention.

Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED; preferred basic jailer certification; supplemented by six months of previous experience.  Must obtain and maintain Basic Jail Certification by attending and passing required in-service training, Chemical Weapons Certification, and CPR Certification.  Assignment to transportation duties requires possession and maintenance of a valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of insurance.  Requires ability to pass Physical Agility test, drug and alcohol screening, and Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI).  Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license.
