NCIC Clerk (Part-Time)

Department: Sheriff's Office

Starting Salary:

Hours: 20 hours per week

Job Summary: Operates National Crime Information Center (NCIC) to retrieve/update criminal information and motor vehicle/license records; enters, removes, confirms, and/or updates various data; run inquiries on data such as vehicle registrations, driver’s license records, criminal histories, warrants, stolen property, or missing/wanted persons; sends BOLOs and other messages; maintains records of NCIC validations; ensures integrity/security of data and adherence to NCIC requirement.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; personal computer operations; and any education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Operation of national/state criminal information systems requires possession and maintenance of valid N.C.I.C., T.C.I.C., T.I.E.S., and/or N.L.E.T.S. Terminal Operator certification.

Insurance Coordinator 
(Part-Time)

Department:  Risk Management 

Starting Salary:
$18.00 - $20.00 / hour (Commensurate with Experience)

Hours:  Monday - Friday; 9:00 am-3:00 pm (1 hour lunch) 





Job Summary:  The purpose of this classification is to perform clerical/administrative work associated with administration of county insurance plans and general office duties for the risk management office. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, greeting visitors, answering telephone calls, providing customer service, preparing or processing various department documentation, coordinating meetings, conducting research, compiling information and statistics, provide support functions for the administration of employee health/life insurance plans, communicating benefits to employees and distributing insurance materials, processing dependent verification paperwork, coordinating COBRA coverage including communication of benefits to employees and distributing materials, reconciling payroll deductions for insurances, processing documentation, and maintaining records.  Reports to Risk Management Director.

Minimum Qualifications:  College-degree preferred, may qualify with high school diploma or GED enhanced by college level course work or vocational training in office administration and personal computer operations; minimum of  two (2) years previous experience and/or training involving all or any combination of the following: benefits, payroll or human resources administration, worker’s compensation administration, office administration, customer service, and personal computer operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess strong Microsoft office knowledge and ability; specifically with Microsoft Excel.  Must possess and maintain of a valid Tennessee driver’s license.

Site Inspector

Department: Engineering 

Starting Salary: $42,232 - $45,356 / Year (commensurate with experience)


 

Job Summary: The purpose of this classification is to perform technical work associated with conducting inspections and surveys of new development in the county to ensure that roadways, drainage, detention/retention areas, and erosion control measures to meet applicable specifications and standards. Duties and responsibilities include inspecting road construction work, surveying construction sites, ensuring compliance with regulations and specifications, advising contractors of deficiencies and making corrective recommendations, preparing computerized or manual drawings of site surveys, maintaining records, or performing related tasks. The position is also responsible for maintaining awareness of NPDES standards and deficiencies. Reports to County Engineer.

Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED; supplemented by five (5) years previous experience and/or training that includes surveying, road inspections, and road construction/maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license.  Must possess and maintain valid Professional Licensed Surveyor certification.

Detention/Corrections Officer (Part-Time)(Must be able to work night and weekends)

Department:
Juvenile Detention Center

Starting Salary: $14.45 / $15.51 Hour (commensurate with experience)



Job Summary: The purpose of this classification is to perform security work associated with maintaining the safety, security and welfare of inmates at the Correctional Work Center or Juvenile Detention Center. Duties and responsibilities include enforcing facility rules and regulations, maintaining discipline, processing incoming inmates, monitoring activities and behavior of inmates, coordinating provision of food, medical care and supplies for inmates, providing courtroom and courthouse security, transporting inmates, preparing documentation, maintaining records, and performing other tasks as assigned. Assignment to Juvenile Detention Center reports to Corporal, Detention.

Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED; preferred basic jailer certification; supplemented by six months of previous experience.  Must obtain and maintain Basic Jail Certification by attending and passing required in-service training, Chemical Weapons Certification, and CPR Certification.  Assignment to transportation duties requires possession and maintenance of a valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of insurance.  Requires ability to pass Physical Agility test, drug and alcohol screening is required.  Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license.

Note:  This position is for a female applicant.  This person will be required to oversee, interact and protect the privacy rights of female detainees.  Detention Officer Positions are established with a BFOQ (Bona Fide Occupational Qualification) dependent on the gender of the residential unit (male/female) to which they are assigned due to the direct custodial care and nature of the interaction required by these positions.

Animal Rescue & Behavior Specialist (Part-Time)

Job Summary:  The purpose of this classification is to assist pet owners, staff and volunteers in managing pet behavior problems, especially those in dogs and cats.  The Animal Rescue & Behavior Specialist (ARBS) will provide pre and post adoption training to assist pet owners, staff and volunteers with animal behavior modification, welfare and enrichment exercises by developing and creating programs, protocols and classes.  Also, the ARBS will work closely with Animal Rescue groups so that more animals can be placed into homes.  Assist with adoption interviews to help provide information to the public regarding behavior issues of adoptable animals. Work closely with Supervisor to ensure the highest quality adoptions and customer service experience. Reports to Animal Control Supervisor and PAWS Director.
